So we've decided to move ahead with our plans without a solid job offer. The Brussels house fits our needs very well, and we are ironing out the final details with the owners. It looks as if we will be able to move in there in the first week of September, so that means that we will likely have a couple of weeks in Europe to spend visiting with friends or staying in other accomodations.
We've been pretty busy negotiating about the house, so we've made little progress in the past month on the immigration issues. Maggie is getting some intelligence from her contacts in Belgium that hiring cycles are on the upswing, so we are continuing to solicit Brussels employers.
We still suspect that obtaining a visa based on our guranteed income from Maggie's sabbatical will be possible, in the event that no contracts come through before we leave.
